After upgrade to trunk 7324, no settings available under FOG Configuration - FOG Settings

I was having an issue with trunk 7320 where I could not change the kernel under TFTP Server in FOG Settings. I would change it and hit Save. It would say that settings were store successfully, but the kernel name never changed. In fact, any change I made to anything under FOG Settings did not change.

So, I upgraded to trunk 7324 and now I have no settings, with the exception of Active Directory. I have rebooted several times, restarted mysql service and apache2, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

I am on ubuntu 14.04

Same issue here. When looking at the workstations fog.log logs I says all the services are disabled globally. Also, are you able to deploy an image? I get the error below, but its there.

As @Scott-Adams said above reboots and restarts of the services do not help.

However, I am still having the issue where I cannot update any of the settings under FOG Settings using the Web UI. I can change other items with FOG Configuration (iPXE config, iPxe menu, etc). Just nothing under FOG Settings. In particular, I am trying to change the kernel I am using under the TFTP Server section. I make the changes, click save. I can confirm. Same here with SVN 7390.

What version of FOG? 7324 is old now. I’m already up to 7390 and I cannot replicate the issue at all.

Yeah, I’m still not affected on r7390… I’m using Fedora 21 with PHP 5.6.21

@Scott-B if you can hold on a minute, I’m snapshotting my fog server so i can try to see if I can git rid of all the crazy back slashes…

@Scott-B mkk so truncating the table and reinstalling definitely did not go well… Going to try truncating the table and then deleting /opt/fog/.fogsettings and then reinstalling. Standby please.

First, do a config export so you can go back if you want.
Web Interface -> FOG Configuraton -> Configuration Save -> Export

next,
mysql
use fog
update globalSettings set settingDesc = '';

What this does is it throws out all the descriptions, which is where all those slashes are being stored. It’s being caused by single quotes in the descriptions, basically.

You won’t have descriptions anymore (until we can fix it) but it’s better than having broke fog settings right?

Any way to do more of a search and destroy slashes in the description field? Some of our inventory info is in there and I cant have it missing.
