imaging multi partition and 2 harddrives
-
I have Fog 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 i am trying to image a OptiPlex 760 with windows server 2003 installed on it . I have selected Multiple Partition Image - All Disks (not Re-sizable) as my image file type. It has 2 hard drives the 1st hard drive has 2 partitions and the second hard drive has 1 partition just for data storage both are NTFS. First It seems that Fog is not copying the 2nd hard drive and Second when I try to restore the image it fails only seems to restore the 1st partition and nothing else. any help would be grateful

@sgtrice You would likely have a lot better chance if you moved to FOG Trunk. There have been some very very major improvements in this exact area you’re having difficulty with. https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Upgrade_to_trunk Understand that the trunk version is the developmental version - it’s in constant flux, updates are pushed multiple times a day. But it’s very close to release and in my opinion it’s pretty stable right now.

Thanks Wayne i have been contemplating going to the Trunk version but just haven’t pulled the trigger yet on it. How much different is it than 1.2.0

@sgtrice The web interface is really similar, but it does have new icons. There are some screenshots of it here: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Special:ListFiles
The boot menu has a new graphic, it’s white and clean.
If you’re asking about functionality - things are a lot better.

@sgtrice oh and also 1.2.0 was revision number 2094.
Current revision is 6,200+ somethin. If that tells you anything… LOT of improvements.
