When I run FogPrep.exe on a Win7x64 PC and reboot it (with or without uploading an image), the ‘Protection Settings’ on the ‘System Protection’ tab of the 'System Properties dialog box changes ‘Local Disk (C:) (System)’ to ‘Off’ and adds an entry of ‘(C:) (Missing)’ to ‘On’. When an image is created after running FogPrep, this setting is saved to the image and placed on imaged PCs. Any PC with these settings generates System Restore errors (Event ID 8193) and suffers performance issues, even to the point of applications hanging.

      Any solutions?

Don’t use FogPrep 🙂 it’s only needed for XP images…

@d4rk3 You don’t need FogPrep at all.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott Let’s label it in paranthesies just like the new/old fog service is.

@Wayne-Workman I don’t need to. FogPrep is not needed at all.

                Correction:
                FOGPrep.exe (Not needed at all)

@Wayne-Workman I think the best solution is to remove it. This way people don’t feel obligated to try to use it.

In short, as there really is no need for FOGPrep, and it’s the one thing you suspect as causing the issue you’re reporting, recreate the image and upload but without using FOGPrep.
