Currently when you select “Quick Image” without first registering the machine it just runs the push without notify the backend. This causes the active count on the dashboard to remain unchanged the the active tasks list to stay empty.

I’m willing to contribute to help fix this but after looking through the code I’ve noticed that you intentionally create a “false task” in this situation to most likely avoid a larger issue that I’m currently unaware of. Any feedback from someone who is more experienced with this project than me would be appreciated.

        I would agree.

Any task, be it on a registered or un-registered machine, should show up in the web console as an active task and show in the task list.
