How best to update Clamav?
-
Hi All,
I’ve searched the forums a bit, but not found an easy answer - my apologies if I’ve missed an existing post.
I would like to update the version of Clamav that is pushed out to my FOG clients for the virus scan.
I know I have done this once before (back in 2011) by updating the init.gz image, but I can’t find the documentation I used then.I am currently on FOG 0.28 (but will be upgrading by the end of the year).
Q1: what is the best way to update clamav on FOG?
a) update to a new kernel from the FOG website?
b) update the clamav binaries and libs in my existing FOG init.gz?Q2: if I do want to just update the existing init.gz, where is the best place to source the updated clamav binaries and libs?
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
Cheers!

I would get the ClamAV info directly from their site and use them to update your init.gz . Personally though, I would not update or even use ClamAV. I have had very bad behavior from it as of late, and wouldn’t even take its scan results seriously.
