Hello,

When I went to check the state of my fog server today I connected through the web browser. I was prompted with the Database Schema Installer / Updater. Thinking nothing of it I clicked to have it update. Unfortunately now I get prompted with it every time I connect. I never get to log in. If I reboot my sever I have a small window of time where I can connect and log into the web management, but it will quickly boot me off to update Schema.

Any help would be great.

I reinstalled Unbuntu and Fog today because of a Multicast issue. It updated like it was supposed to. I then tried another multicast which failed. After that, same problem your having. I tried restarting MySQL, but it fails. Reboot also doesn’t work.
sudo service mysql restart
This resolved the same issue when I saw it yesterday.

For me MySQL would not restart after it did this.

Try this:
https://github.com/mastacontrola/fogproject/issues/1

Then try restarting mysql.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Hello,

I have this same issue however the suggested fix in https://github.com/mastacontrola/fogproject/issues/1 does not solve the issue.

EDIT: Also i can no longer see the iPXE boot menu as described here:
http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/database-update-failed-1-1-0-to-1-1-1.10809/#post-30568

and my apache error log shows the following when i try and run the update:
[Wed Jun 18 10:26:44 2014] [error] [client 10.50.253.181] PHP Warning: mysqli::query(): Couldn’t fetch mysqli in /var/www/fog/lib/db/MySQL.class.php on line 89
[Wed Jun 18 10:26:44 2014] [error] [client 10.50.253.181] PHP Warning: MySQL::sqlerror(): Couldn’t fetch mysqli in /var/www/fog/lib/db/MySQL.class.php on line 180

Thanks,

Can you give these steps a shot as well?

The path mentioned in this that needs to be linked already exists and the ps -aux shows up with no .socks files.

This part is a little out of my normal field so sorry if i am missing something.

Thanks,

However the extra steps mentioned here http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/database-update-failed-1-1-0-to-1-1-1.10809/#post-30630 did fix the issue. Seems like /var/www/fog/lib/fog/Config.class.php had a randomly generated password in it for the database the same as /opt/fog/.fogsettings.

Thanks,
