I am getting the following screen after my computer connects to the server to get the image. The only thing that I changed recently is the advanced menu. I turned the advanced menu off for now and I am still getting this error. What am I missing/not seeing. I am running FOG 1.2.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 pc.

i can tell you with a great deal of certainty that this has nothing to do with the advanced menu.

ok. but that still does not answer my question. what caused this and what would the fix be? i have been searching all over and still have not found a viable fix for this.

i do not have an answer to your question because i do not have enough information to answer it. if it worked before, and doesn’t work now, then something has changed. the “only thing” you’ve changed can’t be the advanced menu if you’re now getting this error. is this error showing up on all machines, or a subset of your machines? what type of task was scheduled that gave the error? what is the make/model of the computer(s) having the issue?

Sounds to me like the task type was not set. Did you upgrade from a previous revision?

I am getting this error on all machines. The model of laptops that I am imaging are the Dell Latitudes E5430 and E5440. I am able to boot the pxe menu just fine but when I create a download task (for either machine) in fog then pxe boot the laptops I get this error. I have even tried download debug but I get the same error. I have not upgraded from a previous version and once I got the images uploaded and did a few test downloads I have not touched the config except to change the advanced menu. The task does create and I look at the task page and it shows download task but it does not run on the laptop to be imaged.

try updating your kernel and init files

I updated to the latest version on the kernel, is there another place to get updates for the init files? I did forget to mention that I added another user the fog server and had been using that username and password. Also, I have recently removed the ip address from the /etc/network/interfaces and the only thing in it now is:
                  auto lo
                  iface lo inet loopback

The network is configured with the gui network config.

I am thinking that I may need to uninstall and re-install to resolve the issue.

To resolve my problem I had to uninstall and re-install FOG.

I know that adding a user account and using it for FOG shouldn’t of caused this problem. Could running two different download task cause this problem?
