Select partition not to upload

When uploading image I would like to leave out a partition used for local backups.
Currently we have to upload the entire disk then return to the server and delete the partition.
This is very time consuming considering the back-up partition is sometimes over 100Gb -

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the “local backup” on a separate disk?

This could be a useful generic feature. It seems that it would take quite a bit of work though.
- Modify UI to present the option (user would have to identify the partition(s) to skip somehow, by number?)
- Modify DB to save the option
- Modify the passing of information to the upload script to include the option
- Modify the upload script to obey the option
I’d be willing to take a stab at the upload script, but haven’t spent any time in the other parts of the system, so I doubt I’d be effective there right now.

this seems like a pretty complicated feature to add, but just to throw an idea in for implementation
i would have the image format be something like this
d1.mbr
d1p1.img
d1p2.img
d1p3.skip
d1p4.imgthis would self document the image files that partition 3 is to be skipped when downloading

I agree, the process of backups were created before I was hired on…currently using Ghost 2003 boot up disc and creating images on 2nd partition. Our systems are loaded with Operating systems dating back to XP -> Windows 8.1, along with different languages of each…so you can imagine how many images are is stored. We do not use volume licenses…each image is retail.
