While testing and troubleshooting I’ve been trying different PXE files, but other then just being a different name, what makes one different then another? How do I know which one I should use other then just a shot in the dark or trial and error?

What issue are you troubleshooting? The latest undionly.kpxe in the SVN should run just fine.

depending on when and where you got them, they are potentially different builds of the ipxe compiled from the source code. tom put a lot of work into troubleshooting the issue, and wolfbane8653 did a lot of testing. in the end, we helped the developers of ipxe find a bug in their code. if you have not updated to the latest version of undionly.kpxe, i recommend that you try it.

here is some info about the differences http://etherboot.org/wiki/gpxe_imagetypes
the ipxe project evolved from the gpxe project

We have upgraded to Fog 1.1 with very little trouble. I was using the PXE boot to load a few disk-less systems. Since he change in Fog PXE boot as changed a bit it seems to be going to the httpd for the boot image. How can i add a 01-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx file to get my network boot systems back up and running. I’m not familiar with working of the new setup. I am hoping its something easy. or if you can point me in the right direction.

I just copied the old PXE files to the /tftpboot/ and made sure not to write over any of the new files.
I should have played with it more before i posted.

Thanks again for all you guys have done with the Fog project.
