      Hello all,

We have recently switched over to windows 8 for my companies computers at our various sites however when i list all hosts in FOG it reports them as Connection Timed Out. I believe this is due to the genius Stealth Mode idea which cannot be disabled with a registry key in windows 8. If i disable the firewall it comes up fine, however if i have the firewall on and the appropriate rules set up then it just times out.

Also i can ping this machine from the FOG servers command line by its hostname perfectly fine, coupled with working when the firewall is disabled, the issue is not in hostname resolution.

Is there any way i can get this to work correctly?

      Thanks,
      Taylor Lawson

I would suggest a different firewall. I hate to be that guy but honestly you will need to either manage the Windows Firewall settings with a GPO or just use a centrally managed AV software.

You can kill Stealth Mode with a GPO? We where going to add these computers to the domain soon so that can be done. Just wanted to try get a base image working.

          Thanks,

Indeed i am, that has not made a difference, which surprised me. The only way i could get it working was switching off the firewall entirely.

              Thanks,
