Yes, the problem was with the image itself. I had to format the hard drive using the formatting tools in Ultimate Boot CD, making sure to write zeros in the whole drive (the looong way), then a clean install of Windows 7 with the default partition configuration. After I installed all updates and software I needed, I created a new image (Multiple partition image - single disk). It worked perfectly. Just for the record I did not use sysprep.

I hate to be a stick in the mud but i am getting this error too and i do not have the time to prepare another image of a machine. i have to have the lab working by 4 pm today actually
is there any info you found to explain why it was doing this or any other way of getting and sending the image? -
I am also having this same problem, but I don’t believe it has anything to do with my image because I have recreated it several times. Is there any other known fixes for it?

The fix that I have found is to run a startup repair with the windows 7 cd then try reimaging.

I am having this issue with any image that I upload. I have tries windows 7 & and Windows XP…any other ideas??

Heads up, its not a fault on the image. It is a local workstation lock on the hard drive from a computer being on standby or hibernate mode. Restart the computer and let it shut down properly. If the OS is wiped and isnt booting anymore… load up the windows 7 install dvd, go through the options to set up windows as a new installation. Delete any random partitions and hit next . When you see the install screen doing its thing, cancel it by hitting the red x and shutdown. Now try to deploy the image again and it should work now.

The problem is it won’t finish repairing it. I mean it finished so I rebooted the machine and it now says it has got winload.exe files missing. Now I can’t reimage it same as before and it won’t boot from CD either. I’ve replaced the HDD, took BIOS battery out… Image is fine as I’ve tested it on another machine. Any help?

Solved… the problem was sitting in RAM. I took RAM out, CMOS battery out and unplugged power cable. Left the machine sitting on the desk for an hour and the problem was gone. I can reimage it now.

Just wanted to add that this fixed the problem for me. The log from the repair stated ‘Corrupted MBR’. I think this means the HD had itself confused with a toaster.
