      Hi,
first of all, thanks a lot for making this awesome program, we use it widely to clone Windows XP, Windows 7 and Slackware 12.1 computers. We are slowly moving to ext4 with Slackware linux, but unfortunately it seems, that even the newest version isn’t yet supporting ext4. Apparently it comes with both partclone, which does support ext4, and partimage, which does support only older ext version like ext3 and ext3fs.

Is there a way to “force” fog to use partclone as standard cloning tool instead of partimage? Can I modify some configuration files and manually make partclone as standard? Please, give me some pointers!

      Thank you!

          Search is a wonderful tool!!!

Gilou has began using Partclone instead of partimage, Partclone can handle the ext4 file system, but at the moment it comes at the cost of giving up Multicast.

Thank you for replying, but it’s not very clear in that post on how to use partclone, install it on FOG server or included it in bzImage file? Sorry, I’m not a programmer, really can’t understand the attached files in that post, would you mind to explain it in more detail for me?

            Thanks!

I’m going to take a look at the diff and maybe add the changes this weekend. @Gilou you’re my savior if this works.

I would be happy to help, but I have never loaded partclone. If you look, Gilou was the one that set up the partclone to use because he has problems with partimage… I on the other hand have no complaints and partclone works great in my environment, get in touch with Gilou, or let Tom figure it out. I prefer to learn to do things myself, and when I get to that bridge and cross it, I will make sure to document the process thoroughly, I was more or less providing a lead for your journey.
