uefi and legacy coexistence

hello,

i want a file boot work with uefi and legacy together.

because i have a computer with network card use only legacy.

In my compagny i have the computer work with UEFI and other only work with legacy.

Please help me

@wass There is no such thing as a UEFI/Legacy single file, which it seems you’re requesting.

You can have a DHCP file that can detect the “mode” the device is operating.

There’s already documentation on just how to do this.

i don’t use the dhcp linux i use the pfsense for the dhcp.

@wass I can’t possibly tell you how to do that…

Just that it’s a baseline.

I am fairly sure the pfsense is also covered in the documentation.

Even if it’s not, google is your friend here.

There’s no possible way for us to tell you how to configure your system or every potential system to operate this. All we can do is guide you with as best information we have and leave the actual configuration up to you.

You can do this with pfsense. (I’m saying this from memory now). In the dhcp server configuration on pfsense. Down towards the bottom there is (maybe under advanced) a net boot button. When you click on it, it should show you 3 fields. There is one field for bios, one for uefi and one for 32 bit uefi.

bios: undionly.kpxe
uefi64: ipxe.efi
uefi32: i386\ipxe.efi

I seem to recall there was two sections for net or pxe booting. The right section had those 3 fields I mentioned.
