    Good Evening.

    Currently setup

    Fog 1.5.9 and Ubuntu 20.0.4

Issue: Machine shows registered in web portal but when I reboot the device to start a capture task the FOG menu shows up and shows device is not registered. Please let me know what I could look at to resolve this matter.

@lostitguy The MAC address is being used to register a machine. The issue described is often seen when using so called ethernet adapters. Search the forums for “pass through MAC address”.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Sebastian-Roth So mac pass thru is enabled. From what I can tell on the initial registration it is pulling the docking station, but then when you try to capture it is configuring the actual MAC associated to the laptop. And if I ty to register the device again after the fog menu states not registered, when it goes thru the registration process states device is already registered based off the docking station. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

@lostitguy From what you describe it’s iPXE pulling the wrong MAC address. To get this fixed you’d need to contact those people: https://ipxe.org/contact

The quick workaround you can take is booting this particular machines via USB: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/7727/building-usb-booting-fos-image

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)
