    Hi,

i have a strange problem with my current image.
I am on an older FOG Server Version 1.5.0 with FOG Client 0.11.15

My current image is based on 2004, when i let FOG join the Computer to our domain and i logon the domain admin the first login never ends, after some time i press strg+alt+del and hit logoff, when i logon again everything is fine. When i start the task manager i can see that there is no explorer process, when i try to start it by hand nothing happens.

When i logon every other user also other user with domain admin rights but not explicit the default domain administrator everything is fine, this only happens with the default domain administrator account (domain\administrator), and it only happens with the first login attempt.

When i deploy the image without letting FOG join the device to the domain i can logon the default domain administrator without any problem. I think this is a curious behavior and i have no idea whats causing this.

Is it possible that this has something to do how the older FOG Client technically joins into domain or what could be the reason here?

    Best Regards X23

That’s a really good question. Though I can’t give you a clear answer. There have been changes in how the fog-client attempts to join a domain but all of these code changes were before 0.11.15 was released in February 2018. Usually I tell people to update to the latest version of FOG/fog-client and try again but I suppose this is of not much help here.

You might want to study that code on github and try some search engine foo to get an idea if there are other methods to join a domain. Though it would take a lot to convince me to use a different method which has not gone through any testing yet.

When i deploy the image without letting FOG join the device to the domain i can logon the default domain administrator without any problem.

I suppose this implies manually joining the domain, right?

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

        Hi,

thanks for your suggestions, i made another try i gave the first login more time, after 10 minutes the first login attempt worked, i maybe was to impatient usually a login doesnt take such long, every login attempt after that first one is working normally.

Hmpf, i will try recreate the image from scratch to see if this impact occours again.

        Best Regards X23
