dell 5410 no network
-
I can use a usb and network boot but get an error when i click on the image it gives an error .
no network interfaces found, your kernel is probably missing hte correct drivers. Check your network setup and try again. It at least hits the server and allows me to get to the images on the server and then fails.
What steps do i need to do ? I am running the latest version of fog 1.59
here is a picture of the error
https://ibb.co/4Rscjt5I have never changed the kernel before and not sure how to just check without changing everything or the proper way to change and other places I have to make adjustments.

Upgrade to the version 5.x kernel that should address the missing network drivers. The default kernel with 1.5.9 is still in the 4.19.x series of linux kernels.
-
I am stupid. Do you have a write up on how to do this ?
-
@george1421 I am stupid …do you have a write up on how to do that and all the things i need to change .
i went to kernal updates but not sure what to pick. I am running unbuntu.
-
FOG WebUI->Fog Configuration->Kernel update kernel 5.6.18 both the 64 and 32 bit versions.

@george1421 thank you. That worked. It is still imaging. I updated to 1.5.9 and it is imaging at 7 minutes again. I thought we did something last time to make it image faster. I am trying to find that thread.
this is an intel 10 gen and should be 3 minutes or so like before .
well darn. It said it imaged but when i boot the computer it does not boot to hard drive. I checked bios and it is set to ahci. Secure boot is off.
it tried to boot to nic card since it could not find the image .

@mmoore5553 @george1421 nevermind it imaged fine the 2nd time around. It just took 7 minutes. Is there a way to get around that or faster ?
-
@mmoore5553 Not a clue since I don’t have one to test with, sorry.
