Every time I deploy an image it tries to write to my USB Boot Disk
-
Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude 5400 running bios 1.6.5 and every time I try to deploy an image on this computer it tries to write the image to the boot disk and not the hard drive. It deletes everything on my boot disk and gives me an error. Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

Set the disk mode on the laptop to ahci from raid-on and it will be happy. For a laptop not using a raid disk array, ahci mode will work very nicely.
I might ask why you are using a usb boot into FOG because the 7400s pxe boot just fine into fog imaging.

@george1421 That worked. I have next set up the PXE boot on the server. It is something I should do over the summer.

?? All you need to do is update your dhcp server. There is nothing really to setup. Just set dhcp options 66 and 67 and your are done. If you want to dynamically boot between bios and uefi mode then you will need some more configuration. But if you have the fog server the hard part is done with pxe booting.
Anyway I’m glad you have it worked out with this computer.
