When I try to upload an image with a new Acer V5-121 I get an error:
“Fatal Error: Disk device not found!”
I have also seen:
“Unable to copy /images/dev/mac to /images/mac”

I have been looking around for a while now and have found no solution. I read that it could be a permissions issue but I am able to upload images from other devices, I am also able to deploy images to devices.

A little bit about the Acer V5, preloaded with 8. I have tried uploading one with 7 and one with 8. I also updated the bios on one of them with no luck.

Thanks in advance!

Check the bios settings and adjust the AHCPI settings and try again.

What type of a hard drive is included in these units? Check BIOS settings first, it obviously has a drive but fog isn’t seeing it, sometimes adjusting the BIOS settings will help. If not, you can try the Kitchen Sink kernel, or build your own with the hardware drivers included.

The HDD is a Toshiba MQ01ABF032. I have tried it with both IDE and AHCI Mode, I have also tried Legacy BIOS and UEFI. I also have tried two different versions of Kitchen Sink, and a couple versions of Core kernels. I can try building my own kernel but I never have done that before.

wow, sounds like you’re having a tough time 😞

Building a custom kernel is not hard to do, it doesn’t take too long to do either. Ozzy made a nice write up on building a custom kernel, it’s in the second post of the thread -> http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/request-for-kernel-compiling-info-please-read.4045/

Hopefully this can make some headway, good luck

I was able to make a kernel but since I have no idea what I need to check for drivers it did not work. 😞
Any thoughts in what selections I might have to make?

Thanks for all of your help so far Jaymes.

I am still having issues with my original problem.

When I try to upload an image with a new Acer V5-121 I get an error:
“Fatal Error: Disk device not found!”
I have also seen:
“Unable to copy /images/dev/mac to /images/mac”

It does not seem to be a permissions issue since I have been uploading and deploying images since this issue occurred.
