My first post on this forum was regarding a CPU stall when attempting to image Windows Server 2016 to a Dell PowerEdge R640 using Fog.

When doing so, we observed a repeatable CPU stall issue. In a reply to that thread, a dev from Fog linked replacement bzImage and init.xz files to accommodate a CPU core count higher than 8.

That post was seemingly removed from the technical support forums. I’m currently experiencing the same issue in another environment and do not have access to the files that were previously provided to supplement the fix.

If anyone is able to provide the files mentioned above, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

I think it was me who build the one off kernel for this issue. Here is the link to the kernel “I think” we ended up on: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_zh2W3fgRG9TRCWpdq1ezq5k6pA1WRZz

Download the file as bzImageMaxCPU and then move it to your fog server in /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe directory.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

I can’t seem to find your post but here is another user with the same issue: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/13742/rcu_sched-stall-or-kernel-panic-on-poweredge-r640?_=1582227153269

@sokrina We updated the official kernel to allow for more than 8 CPUs. So you might just use the latest (version 4.9.101) or update your FOG server to 1.5.8 which was just released.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG
