Hello, I upgraded some machines from windows 7 to windows 10. everything worked until I deployed the windows 10 image. now once it gets to the fog menu, it attempts to pass off to the hard drive, but it doesn’t, just goes back to the fog menu. the hardware in the computers are a few years old, but it has worked just fine, till I created and tried to deploy this windows 10 image. we are using pxe booting, realtek network cards, 120 gig ssd’s, the system have 2 gigs of ram each. like I said, the systems were working and deploying just fine, until created this windows 10 image and attempted to deploy it. now nothing boots past the fog boot menu. Ideas?

@anwoke8204 The one bit of info you left off is the mode of the computer. Is it bios or uefi mode. Each firmware needs the appropriate exit mode set in the web ui. For uefi make sure that refind is set as the exit mode. This will work in most situations for uefi.

I am wondering on what happens if you switch from PXE boot back to just plain boot from disk? Does it boot Windows 10 properly then?

I have tried both bios and uefi. and I get the same issue.

What exactly to you mean by that? Did you play with the exit type settings for both in the web UI or did you switch the BIOS/UEFI firmware settings on the host? If you played with the firmware settings on the host I am really wondering if your image is UEFI or legacy BIOS? You can’t have a pure UEFI image and boot that on a legacy BIOS only machine or vice versa.

Which exit type is set in the web UI? Have you tried all the different ones like SANBOOT and so on?

Be aware there is a global setting for exit type as well as a per host setting.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)
