Hi gais. I’m completely new to this so I hope learn alot. We hired a small company to deploy some images for us and they used a FOG system. I have the images and figured I should learn what the heck they did lol. Cheers, FoggyBrain

Hope you don’t change your username from FoggyBrain to FoggedUpBrain :). I wish I could give you some positive feedback. But I want to get you speed with couple of things you should learn:

1. There is no activity on the Fog project for quiet sometime.
2. Fog has several issues.
3. Fog will not support some common file systems.
4. If you really wanted to learn you should have deployed those images yourself to start with instead of hiring someone to do the job for you.
5. Also “gais” is spelled “guys” - there are several places that will help you learn how to spell words. I would start with google or yahoo to search.

Hope I was helpful in your quest to learn with few tips. Cheers 🙂

P.S: If you feel if you’ve learned anything please click the like button for the reply to encourage me help others. Thanks.
Hope you don’t change your username from FoggyBrain to FoggedUpBrain :). I wish I could give you some positive feedback. But I want to get you speed with couple of things you should learn:

1. There is no activity on the Fog project for quiet sometime. //I think Quiet is very clever choice of words regarding this forum, well played sir
2. Fog has several issues. //I’ve discovered some from the reading
3. Fog will not support some common file systems. //its seems to deploy my XPe images fine which is the only reason I’m still looking at it
4. If you really wanted to learn you should have deployed those images yourself to start with instead of hiring someone to do the job for you. // didn’t have the time at the time but now my t i m e has expanded
5. Also “gais” is spelled “guys” - there are several places that will help you learn how to spell words. I would start with google or yahoo to search. //didn’t know how to spell the word I was looking for so neither of those helped me

Hope I was helpful in your quest to learn with few tips. Cheers 🙂

Actually Jay_S_FogUser I want to clarify:

1. FOG is still active, however, there are really only 3 developers, 1 of which stepped back for a bit. But FOG is still alive and being actively modded and developed.
2. Every program has issues, if you come across some, please post them in the Bug forums and we’ll try to get them sorted out.
3. FOG works with up to Windows 8 and ext3 filesystems. It is being looked at to switch to partclone for the core imaging system.
4. Yes, the best way to learn is to do it yourself. However, I’m currently putting something together to help new users get into FOG, I’m hoping to have it ready within the next few weeks.
5. Chuck, the creator of FOG posted this today, please have a read: http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fog-status.4515/
