Fog and pxe boot Esxi 6.7u3 installer on HPE Server can't pass k.b00 module
-
Hi, i follow the guide here to create esxi pxe installer from the esxi iso but i have a problem.
The physical machine is a HPE DL380 Gen10.I boot from pxe without problem, i get the fog menu and i choose my esxi 6.7u3 boot image.
Here i get the typical esxi loading screens but i stuck at k.b00 and it doesn’t move from there.
I’ve tried also with 6.5u3 but it’s the same: i cannot pass k.b00.
No errors are thrown, execpt a keyboard not found error in red at the beginning of the loading modules screen.
I use NFS.Any hint?
edit: i’m using vmware iso images developed for HPE, for gen9plus hardware, not the general Vmware image.
edit2: i’m using a Windows machine for DHCP and DNS. My fog is on a centos 7 vm. I think that generally speking it doesn’t had any problem, i can deploy Gparted, Windows 10 installer, Windows Server 2016 & 2019 installer without problem. I generally use that for installing OS into VM. This is the first time i’m using a bare metal machine to deploy the OS. -
Another information: i just spin up a VM with UEFI bios and E1000E adapater and tried to deploy esxi 6.7u3 to that vm and get past the loading modules stage and i can actually install esxi here.
Fog version is 1.5.7 -

From what you have told us so far I think this might be some problem with iPXE booting in the other VM. Can you please give us more details on what setting(s) is/are different between the one that works and the one that doesn’t properly load.
