    Hi Fog Team,

    This thread is from previouse conversation … https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/13960/fog-installation-and-cofiguration-on-ubuntu-18-04

    i have a further questions,
    where is the link to the download of the “building-usb-booting-fos-image iso” ?

    This sounds like a very interesting innovative possibility to the Fog Project…

      @Tom-Elliott

      i have a question…
      i have a VM (Qnap) that doesnt have the pxe boot options, therefore cannot pxe boot into anything.
      is there a way, or a command that one can enter into ubuntu to allow Fog capture the OS without pxe booting.

      or would this be one of the impossible magic we talking about?

        @chasosnature You wanna check out this: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/7727/building-usb-booting-fos-image

        When you have successfully created the boot medium you need to schedule a task for this client in the web UI or you will run into an issue on booting it up. We have not found the time to make this method work perfectly fine. It has some issues.

        PS: You are welcome to open new topics for each question you have. It’s way easier for others having similar or same problems to find the right answer in a short topic instead of half a dozen questions being packed in one thread.

        Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

          @chasosnature I’ve done some restructuring moving the posts from the other topic to this one. Just so you don’t wonder…

          where is the link to the download of the “building-usb-booting-fos-image iso” ?

          There is no ready to got download link. Please read through the whole topic posted and you’d understand how to build you own USB boot media.
