Error trying to restore GPT partition tables
-
Hello all, having this error suddenly on UEFI with images and devices that were working before. I noticed (really late) that last month a number of FOG services failed and the UEFI images I have are showing 0 bytes size.
I’ve restarted
FOGImageReplicator.service
FOGImageSize.service
FOGMulticastManager.service
FOGPingHosts.service
FOGScheduler.service
FOGSnapinHash.service
FOGSnapinReplicator.serviceand I’m trying to decide how to proceed because I confirmed the images are still there, not 0 bytes, and legacy images work.
Fog v1.5.7
After restarting FOGImageSize.service

@rankinc While it’s not great the FOG services aren’t running I’d say this has nothing to do with the error you posted in the other picture.
Please try the following:
- Schedule a new deploy for a host with 256 GB SSD but before you click “Create Task” tick the checkbox for debug.
- Boot up the client and hit ENTER twice to get to the shell - run command
fog
and step through till you hit the error. - Now back in the shell manually run
sgdisk -gl /images/UEFI-CafeteriaPOS/d1.mbr /dev/sda
, take a picture and post that here.
As well, can you please post the contents of the text file
/images/UEFI-CafeteriaPOS/d1.partitions
you have on your FOG server.Read through this topic: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/13906/ssd-fails-at-restoring-partition-tables-gpt-with-error-code-4

@Sebastian-Roth thanks for the reply. I had searched around but there were a lot of threads and I missed that one. It appears the person I tasked with taking over image creation may have ended up with a sizing problem.

@rankinc This partition number 5 is a recovery partition which FOG doesn’t move on the disk. So it’s unable to shrink your main Windows partition.
