    We’ve been successfully imaging on all kinds of different models, but this particular one comes to a halt with the rEFInd screen. Doing some research we went from version 0.11.0 to 0.8.3 with the same result. We are open to any suggestions at this point as we have quite a large number of this model.

      @Birgit-Godfrey

      What version of FOG are you currently using?

      rEFInd has made some changes that do not always agree with some older hardware but depending on your version might not be the case.

        @quinniedid sorry, left an important piece of the puzzle out, we are on 1.5.7.

          @Birgit-Godfrey You could try all the different versions offered here to see if any of those works on this machine: https://sourceforge.net/projects/refind/files/

          As well you might try to play with the settings you find in /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/refind.conf on your FOG server. Find a couple of topics on this using “refind.conf” in the forum search.

          Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

          Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

            @Birgit-Godfrey

            We are an all HP environment so we have found that 0.11.0 rEFInd is required for all of our machines to boot. We also have to change in the refind.conf that Sebastian mentioned is the line scanfor netboot,internal to scanfor internal

            You might want to try some of the things mentioned in this post: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/11993/refind-pxe-booting-issue/

              @quinniedid @Sebastian-Roth - We’ve tried your suggestions and so far no luck. Need to dig deeper into the BIOS and see if I’m missing something there. Turned off legacy and secure boot. Not much else in there that looks related, but who knows. Thanks for your input.

                @Birgit-Godfrey I would also check and make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed on your system. We have run into issues that PXE booting was not always stable or even worked until we updated the BIOS.

                Also, you need to make sure that you change refind_x64.efi, if using 64bit, file to the 0.11.0 rEFInd. We had to change both of them in order for things to boot. Something pretty new for FOG.

                  Solved. After eliminating one item after another, and initially only looking at the NIC, I went ahead and removed the DMS card. Wouldn’t you know it, no longer the rEFInd error and they went on to image. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions. This goes to show that some errors are not really related to what they appear to. 40 + machines saved from surplus.
