I work at a community college that has 6 locations. We have been using fog for the past 8 years to image and it has been working great with a few hiccups along the way. I have my fog server set up on our main imaging site and is working great. I updated it to 1.5.6 and was unable to replicate to the storage nodes so I updated them to 1.5.6 as well. The storage node will automatically add to the list on the GUI, but will not display data, show up in the configuration page, or transfer the images. The replication log says “server does not appear to be online.” The master and storage nodes are now on 1.5.6.4 with the same issue occurring. Any ideas?

I am not sure I get this!? From what I understand you already have storage nodes. So when you update to 1.5.6.x why would it “add to the list”? Shouldn’t it be there already. Please clarify what exactly you have/had and what you add to the setup. As well be more precice on the points previous version(s), number and type of nodes, which did you update and so on?

No idea what you mean by that? Which issue?

It might be very helpful if you post pictures of the web UI where we can see what you have (settings and missing nodes in views).

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

When I updated the server and nodes to 1.5.6 they stopped working. In an effort to correct the problem I removed them and tried to re-add them. Last working version was 1.5.4 across all nodes and the server. The server and nodes are running on Ubuntu 18.04.2. I had read an issue with 1.5.6 and storage nodes (read that from the link below) so i decided to switch to trunk to see if the issue was resolved. Hopefully that makes more sense.

Can you give us more details on this? What exactly did not work anymore? Did not replicate anymore? Clients didn’t boot to the menu? Tasks not working?

The images are not replicating, all storage node are offline according to the logs. I cannot complete any tasks with those nodes, I am having to image directly from the main server.

@ddenney0004 What exactly happens when you schedule a task from a storage node?
