PXE boot failed 1.5.6

yeah the buildpxe.sh isn’t the issue here.
I noticed you have https:// , do you have ssl enabled on your FOG server? The boot.php is manged by the fog installer so it should be there if the installer completed correctly.
So if you run this command from the fog server linux console
ls -la /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/*.php
does it find boot.php? If it does then its probably the https vs http. -

I do have SSL enabled. The installer was originally run with -S
The installer completed successfullyroot@fogimaging:~# ls -la /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/*.php

@astrugatch OK the next step is to see if apache is listening on the https port.
netstat -an|grep :443
It should respond with something like this:
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:443 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
-
@george1421 said in PXE boot failed 1.5.6:
netstat -an|grep :443
Yup. That works. I can get to the web UI over https
root@fogimaging:~# netstat -an|grep :443
tcp6 0 0 :::443 :::* LISTEN
tcp6 0 0 10.10.70.4:443 10.10.10.21:63466 TIME_WAIT -
@astrugatch OK for the next test
From a windows browser, can you go to this web site?
https://10.10.70.4/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php?mac=00:00:00:00:00:00
This should give you a bunch of text, which is the text behind the FOG iPXE boot menu.

@astrugatch Ok then the issue is that the iPXE boot loader doesn’t understand https or the certificate of the FOG server is not inline with the certificate used to locally compile the iPXE kernels (undionly.kpxe and ipxe.efi).
Unfortunately I don’t know the next steps. I know where the issue is, but not how to fix it since I hanven’t needed to setup ssl on my FOG server. You were in the right neighborhood with the
buildpxe.sh
command. -
Thanks for the help Pinging @Sebastian-Roth

I tried running the buildpxe.sh and that didn’t fix the issue.
Hey there, back to work, can try to help you here. When running the
buildipxe.sh
do you get any errors at the end? It should put out quite some text output. Does it? Can you copy&paste all of that? Just after running it, can you please also rundate && ls -al /tftpboot
and copy&paste the output here as well? -
Welcome back!
Attaching a log file from my ssh session that should have all the info you asked for.

@astrugatch Great! Well that looks interesting. Building looks fine so far but it seems to not copy the files over to
/tftpboot
for some unknown reason. So far I’ve only had a quick look at the log. Maybe something I missed there. -
@astrugatch Are you sure you are on 1.5.6? From the output it looks more like you have 1.5.5 really because in
~/trunk/
directory you only havebinaries...zip
files up to 1.5.5…Just asking because there was an issue in the iPXE build script that I fixed between 1.5.5 and 1.5.6 if I remember correct.
Please run and post output here:
cd ~/trunk/ git branch -v
-
root@fogimaging:~/trunk# git branch -v dev-branch 71b77da [behind 252] Release 1.5.2 to fix install bugs and new item creation bugs. * master d75b1d3 Merge branch 'dev-branch' of github.com:FOGProject/fogproject into dev-branch working f3fe2ce [behind 67] Add testing of Redhat < 7 for maintaining native php handling vs. FPM root@fogimaging:~/trunk#```

-
Its odd because I’ve re-run the 1.5.6 installer recently too which from what I understand also runs the build.
-
@astrugatch Strange. Please run
ls -al ~/trunk/bin/error_logs/
and post output here. -

@astrugatch Thanks for posting this log as well. Having a closer look I just found this:
make: Nothing to be done for ‘/opt/fog/snapins/ssl//CA/.fogCA.pem’.
I am not quite sure what is going wrong here. But seems like we are on the right track here.
Please run
echo $SHELL && lsb_release
and post output.
