Windows Not Booting
-
I’ve tested this several times and can’t seem to get my windows to boot up on my physical machine.
I captured the image in VirtualBox and syspreped. It will deploy to a VM with no problem but when I attempt to boot on my PM (OptiPlex 3020), it says “No bootable devices found.”Ideas?

The VM you captured from, was it in bios mode or uefi? How about the target computer bios (legacy) or uefi mode. You can not mix disk formats. Or to say it another way if you capture from a bios based computer you can only deploy the image (and have it work) to a bios based target computer. The same goes with uefi, you can only deploy a uefi image to a uefi target computer. This isn’t a fog issue but a hardware issue. FOG will copy the image for sure, the issue is the target hardware has to be able to find the disk image.

If I’m undestadning correctly, when I go to capture and deploy the image, I boot into UEFI Secure off.

@george1421 Turns out I’m just really a noob when it comes to VMs. VirtualBox was set to Legacy in the setup. After changing my physical machine to Legacy, it works fine! Thank you George

If it was easy everyone one would be imaging computers. As I’ve told others you learn more from your mistakes than success. If it would have work right out of the box, what would you have learned?
Keep at it you are making progress.
Virtualbox is not the best hypervisor for creating images because there are so many limitations. But if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

What do you feel is the best Hypervisor for Imaging?

Very true!
