I have some hosts that were added by the client being deployed to them. These clients are remote so I cant change their pxe settings. I put in a feature request to do inventory from the client, but until then is there a way to manually enter data into the inventory pane?

      Running 1.5.5

If I remember correctly, if the fog client is installed it will report inventory back to the FOG server. If the target computer had never been imaged by FOG these additional client created hots need to be approved before they are added into inventory. Its been a while (we don’t use the fog client here), but I thought there was a message about pending hosts when you were in the host management pages.

@george1421 there is a message but the client doesn’t do anything with inventory updates. That is done through Fos as a task. There’s dedicated inventory task, or the next deploy to the machine will update the inventory info as well.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott Thank you for the reply, just so I’m sure the FOG Client will or will not update/create inventory data on its own?

I am making this a normal thread as this is not a real FOG problem that can be just solved. Please follow up in the feature request topic here: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/12506/client-inventory-option
