After many hours of trying to configure and get running an isolated network, I setup Fog .032 and Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit (Desktop) on my network.
The settings I used were:
Here are the settings FOG will use:
Distro: Ubuntu
Installation Type: Normal Server
Server IP Address: 192.168.127.181
DHCP router Address: 192.168.127.1
DHCP DNS Address:
Interface: eth0
Using FOG DHCP: 1
Internationalization: 0
I was able to recognize and image a drive.

Now the opportunity. I am looking to image about 85 (23 at a time) Dell 6500/6510 laptops with the same syspreped Win 7 image.
I would like to move to an isolated network. Just the FOG server and the network hub with the computers connected to the hub.

First off, am I missing any hardware?
How do I move my system to an isolated network?
Can I still use the image that I captured to multicast after the move? Assuming I am successful…

Any feedback is appreciated. 😉

Step 1: unplug your FOG server from the main network.
Step 2: plug your FOG server into the isolated switch
Step 3: plug clients into the isolated switch
Step 4: profit

Access via the same IP address - 192.168.127.1/fog/management

I followed and no profit.
The IP address was reassigned and could not login. I tried to create a static and rebooted, it will stayed on he previous. (wrong ip address) When I do select and create a static IP it shows that the network is not connected to the wired network…

How did you try to create a static IP? Can you talk us through what you did so that we might be able to show you where you went wrong perhaps?

I went into VPN Connections and deleted the existing wired network.
I then entered an IP address that matched the network version
192.168.127.181, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.127.1
I did not set up a DNS entry.

The computer after a reboot found 192.168.127.177 as an IP address after reviewing the connection settings. I could not access the Fog system at all.
