1722 error - Cannot add Windows 7 to domain
-
Good day to everyone,
I have been using the FOG imaging solution for some time to deploy independent Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers i.e they were not added to a domain.
I have also been able to deploy applications like Office 2007, Acrobat Reader, Chrome and Firefox using the snapin feature without any issues.Recently I have been trying to get Windows 7 added to a domain using FOG but I keep getting the “HostnameChanger Unknown Return Code: 1722” error in the fog.log file.
I am unsure of what I should enter in the active directory section of the Host and also the Active Directory Defaults in Fog Settings menu.
eg Domain: domain.lan
Default OU: sales.domain.lanI have done some research and it seems be related to the Remote Procedure Call Service. Also if I try to manually add the pc to the domain e.g domain.lan with the credentials eg fsadmin and password – I am able to add the computer to the domain but I receive an error message : Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to “” failed. The name will remain “domain.lan”. The error was: The RPC Server is unavailable
Can someone provide me with any solutions to this problem.

@David-Raymond From what you describe this is definitely not a FOG issue. We might point you the right way to solve this but I am sure there are other forums out there knowing a lot more about that kind of stuff.
Maybe start reading here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fe8901f2-f8d9-44aa-8eb4-b6b853ada623/quotrpc-server-unavailablequot-while-attempting-to-join-domain?forum=winserverDS
Sounds like a DNS issue. You might want to run the mentioned
DCDIAG
command on your Windows AD server to see if it is all setup correctly.
