PXE-E61 Media Test Failure on certain computers
-
I have done thousands of images on the desk to left side of my main desk. Most work great but some have issues with the above error. This is a Realtek PCIe GBE family controller series v2.46 that I am struggling with today. I have a bunch of these older computers that need images and cannot get them to pxe boot. Any ideas?
Thanks

@parkcitygolfer " PXE-E61 Media Test Failure"
This is a hardware failure, nothing more. The PXE-Exx errors are created by your computer’s bios (firmware) in that it can’t detect a network cable is plugged in. This is before FOG is even in the picture.
Suggestions…?? make sure your firmware (bios) is up to date on these computers. Not much else other than use a supported pxe boot usb ethernet adapter. Not a real good choice but if you can’t get the built in nics to detect the media, you are kind of stuck.

Perfect. I will start by updating the BIOS and give it a go. Thanks

@parkcitygolfer Maybe replace cables and you might even look into spanning tree, although I have to admit that I have never seen this error in combination with a spanning tree issue.
