      Hi all,

Fresh build ubuntu 18.04, FOG 1.5.4

When trying to capture, it been slow and then received the CPU error. No issue when deploying.

Read around here that kernel downgrade(to 4.15.2) might be a solution, but the issue was not marked as solved.

      1. Is this still the suggested solution?
      2. If yes, could you please provide detailed instructions how to do it?

      Thank you,

      Tom

Yes please downgrade the kernel to 4.15.2, This will address the slowness in creating and scrubbing the partitions. The linux developers have changed something in the linux kernel to cause this issue at the moment.

@tom My preference is to strong arm it, but you should be able to do that from the webgui. FOG Settings->Kernel Update then scroll down the list. You want both the 32 bit and 64 bit PC kernels (not ARM).

@george1421 Thanks, testing. I’ll post an update once complete.
              Quick question:
If you have an image and I would like to capture new version of it.
Would it ok to overwrite it or capture it as a new entry?

              Tom

@tom Either way is fine based on your needs. If you don’t care about the old image then overwrite it, if on a chance you might need it then create a new version and purge the old one later.

@george1421 Thank you for the help. Capture seems to be working properly now.
