      Hi there,
i want to clone Dell Venue Pro 11 Tablets. I am using Fog on other systems very good but with Tablets i have my Problems.
I have taken a video of this problem, but only watch don’t hear my bad english 🙂

Every time i want to choose an option in Fog Menü it comes again the menu. Sometimes there stands chainloading, if i disable the menu for example or want to deploy an image. I can type my passwort and choose the image but then nothing happens.
It does not matter which option i am choosing… there is not the result i am waiting on.

      Infos about my system:
Fog 1.5 ( i think i have updated but there stands 1.4.4 in webpage )
Dell Venue Pro Docking Station with lan

it also the same problem with Lenovo and HP Tablets, also with an Dell USB C Adapter to network.

      Perhaps a Dell issue?

@Sebastian-Roth Perhaps i can tell you in german ? 🙂

@Hope1983 Will be looking into this on the weekend.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

It looks like (from the video) that iPXE is never turning over control to FOS. It downloads both the kernel and virtual hard drive (init.xz) but then fails to launch.

I guess I would check to see if:

            1. Secure boot is off (you should not get this far if its on, but double check)
            2. Ensure that your firmware is up to date on the Dell tablet
            3. What iPXE file name are you sending to the tablet? What is dhcp option 67 set to, or do you have dynamic boot file names configured?

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

@Hope1983 Ok, so in the video we see iPXE error 0x7f048283: http://ipxe.org/err/7f048283 - iPXE fails to start the EFI binary (the linux kernel in this case). As it is working properly with other devices this seems to be a problem with this particular device.

First follow George’s post on upgrading the firmware and making sure secure boot is disabled.

              Use the following link to build a debug enabled (DEBUG=efi_image,efi_wrap) binary: https://rom-o-matic.eu/build.fcgi?BINARY=ipxe.efi&BINDIR=bin-x86_64-efi&REVISION=master&DEBUG=efi_image,efi_wrap&EMBED.00script.ipxe=%23!ipxe isset %24{net0/mac} %26%26 ifopen net0 %26%26 dhcp net0 || goto dhcpnet1 echo Received DHCP answer on interface net0 %26%26 goto proxycheck %3Adhcpnet1 isset %24{net1/mac} %26%26 ifopen net1 %26%26 dhcp net1 || goto dhcpnet2 echo Received DHCP answer on interface net1 %26%26 goto proxycheck %3Adhcpnet2 isset %24{net2/mac} %26%26 ifopen net2 %26%26 dhcp net2 || goto dhcpall echo Received DHCP anser on infterface net2 %26%26 goto proxycheck %3Adhcpall dhcp %26%26 goto proxycheck || goto dhcperror %3Adhcperror prompt --key s --timeout 10000 DHCP failed%2C hit 's' for the iPXE shell%3B reboot in 10 seconds %26%26 shell || reboot %3Aproxycheck isset %24{proxydhcp/next-server} %26%26 set next-server %24{proxydhcp/next-server} || goto nextservercheck %3Anextservercheck isset %24{next-server} %26%26 goto netboot || goto setserv %3Asetserv echo -n Please enter tftp server%3A %26%26 read next-server %26%26 goto netboot || goto setserv %3Anetboot chain tftp%3A//%24{next-server}/default.ipxe || prompt --key s --timeout 10000 Chainloading failed%2C hit 's' for the iPXE shell%3B reboot in 10 seconds %26%26 shell || reboot &general.h/IMAGE_SCRIPT:=1&general.h/IMAGE_EFI:=1&general.h/IWMGMT_CMD:=0&general.h/NSLOOKUP_CMD:=1&general.h/TIME_CMD:=1&general.h/DIGEST_CMD:=1&general.h/LOTEST_CMD:=1&general.h/VLAN_CMD:=1&general.h/REBOOT_CMD:=1&general.h/POWEROFF_CMD:=1&general.h/PCI_CMD:=1&general.h/PARAM_CMD:=1&general.h/NEIGHBOUR_CMD:=1&general.h/PING_CMD:=1&general.h/CONSOLE_CMD:=1&general.h/NTP_CMD:=1&console.h/CONSOLE_FRAMEBUFFER:=1&general.h/ROM_BANNER_TIMEOUT=40 &branding.h/PRODUCT_NAME=FOG Project&branding.h/PRODUCT_SHORT_NAME=FOG iPXE&

It takes 10 seconds to build and shows a download window after that. Grab that file and put it in /tftpboot on your FOG server - rename the original ipxe.efi to not overwrite it.

Now boot up your client again an take a new video of the messages on screen you see. Please try to set your camera/smartphone on a pile of books on your table in front of the screen so we have a steady picture. We need a clear/readable picture of all the messages (and numbers!) on screen.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

hi, sorry i was ill last week and have no time to check this problem again.
could it be, that this is not the right binary file? it must be uefi 32-bit version. I have moved it to /tftpboot/i386-efi/ location where it normally takes the file.
If i try to boot now, it says “Succeed to download NBP file” and then it goes to ipv6 and then boot up Windows.
