I am looking to add the persistent groups plugin to my install of 1.5. I have found some forum posts about persistent groups but can’t find instructions on how to install it.

Goto FOG Configuration->FOG Settings->Plugin Settings Check the “Enable” checkbox and save.

You will then have a new icon in the upper menu that looks like a cog. Click there, It will take you to the “Activate Plugins” page.

You should see the “Persistent Groups” plugin in the list.

        Click it.

        Click on “Install Plugins”

Click on the “Persistent Groups” plugin in the list there, likely the only one.

You will then see “Install Plugin”. Press the button and you should now have persistent groups enabled.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please understand that persistent groups are not part of FOG. This “hack” called persistent groups is intended to give the appearance of real persistent groups. This document describes how to use it: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/8836/basic-persistent-groups-and-1-3-0rc16 Read the entire thread not all of my posts are adjacent to each other because of the way the fog forums work. There is more info at the bottom of the thread.

The developers took the hard part out of adding the concept of persistent groups to FOG by wrapping the hard stuff inside a plugin.

OK. Now I have it installed. I don’t see where I make the template groups and hosts or define groups or hosts as templates and make those associations.
