I have about 600 computers and I am using the snapins to update the programs and run scripts. Randomly the computers will stop pushing the snapins. It says checkin and queue if I used a group to deploy the updates. If I do one at a time, it will say all snapins checkin but never does anything else. I updated 550 of the 600 computers today. My work around is to delete the computer from fog and restart the computer. Redeploy the snapins. That does fix it but the problem with that work around is it takes HOURS to figure out which computers are broken. Fog is installed on centos 7 Fog 1.44 and all the newest updates are applied. It is a VM. The computers I am pushing to is windows 7 with the Aug updates applied.

When I was doing what you are (deploying snapins to 600 computers at a time), I’d reset the encryption on all computers beforehand - every time I wanted to do something like this.

Also it might be that your max clients setting on your storage node is set too high. The default is 10. If you’re pushing a 100MB snapin to 10 at once, you can see how that may slow down or clog. So try lowering the Max Clients - it’s in the Storage Management area.

Also - be aware that the fog client ‘polls’ the fog server every so often. The default is maybe five minutes, don’t remember. But if you deploy a single snapin to a system - it won’t actually start doing stuff until that system checks with the fog server at the next polling interval.

Use the web interface - put all of them into a group called “all” and use the group to reset the encryption on them all.
