Oh, nice. Sorry didn’t see that. I just started watching the video, as I plan on moving to PDQ within the coming year.
Glad they did this.

@THEMCV Will be interesting to see, can’t wait. Good luck with it all. And yes /r/sysadmin is MDT heavy and most posts I read about people wanting to move away from FOG are usually running very old versions. In the one post where I was posting with you, I am currently still helping that person out. Have convinced him to stay with FOG, and while I am an expert with it, I am able to help him enough to get him up and running, showing him that keeping FOG was an advantage. It is a great product!
THEMVC - I have seen you a few time over on Reddit, promoting FOG with all the MDT pushers. I added to a few of your comments the other day. Keep at it!!. btw TitsMcgeeHC was my reddit name. Is there a link to check out the Merc yet?
I am back to my Win 10 machine, and while in audit mode, I cannot set certain settings without windows being Activated. I have tried on LTSB and EDU. EDU give me some extra breathing room, but still cant set lock screens and other settings.
@Arsenal101 If he changes it to EXIT or GRUB it doesn’t boot. He has also tried E1000, and VMXNET3 for NIC settings, neither will get him past the 0x80. I have seen this with machines needing to have their SATA operation set to AHCI, but never in a VM.
Ok, so by default it pulls the snapins from master server, as it is defined in the client during installation. I could check that box and have it pull snapins from the location set by the hosts settings.
I have that correct?
FOG_SNAPIN_LOCATION_SEND_ENABLED
Could someone explain what this does. I read the tooltip, but not completely sure I understand.
I use the location plugin, and the snapins are located on each storage node. Doesn’t FOG install snapins based on the closet node already, or does it pull from the location you have set on the host?
@Quazz On Win7 it let you do it, but Win10 won’t do it without activation. Never had to do it with a theme pack. Probably a good idea anyway to keep consistency between remakes of images.
Guess I will try the package idea. So just make a fresh machine thats activated, make changes, export the theme, then import on the audit mode machine?
mainly backgrounds, colors, Lock Screens, and start menu.
Maybe I am the only one who can’t figure this out, maybe I’m not and am too stupid to use Google. I have searched all over the place and can’t find what I am looking for.
I am trying to build our first Win 10 image for deployment. I can’t for the life of me find how to edit personalization settings without activating windows. Once in audit mode it tells me that I have to activate windows to personalize my PC. How are other handling this.
I have read of the win 10 thread on this forum, but this part is stumping me.
@pencils As far as the exit types go, I don’t think you need to worry about those (I don’t)
As far as the capture goes. Basically, you find the host in fog gui, make sure the image is set (which it looks like you have), go to basic tasks, Capture, create task.
Next time that machine is PXE booted, it will see there is a task and execute. If you are having to hit F12 each time, change the boot order in the BIOS to network boot first.
Make sure your MAC address in the host info matches what your machine MAC is.
http://10.103.72.49/fog/management/index.php?sub=wakeEmUp&mac=b8:ac:6f:3d:6e:a4 = master node, nothing
http://10.106.2.149/fog/management/index.php?sub=wakeEmUp&mac=b8:ac:6f:3d:6e:a4 = node where machine is located, nothing. States this is a node and not to use the web interface.
can run wol utility from 10.106.2.149 to the mac, and it wakes up.
@Tom-Elliott On RC-14. still no wol for me. I’m not sure what else I can check.
@Wayne-Workman Correct, I am using location plugin, 1 master, 6 nodes. WOL only works if I use the wakeonlan utility. Running WOL, or deploying a task, does not WOL even at the master site. Also will not wake up when doing http://10.103.72.49/fog/management/index.php?sub=wakeEmUp&mac=b8:ac:6f:3d:6e:a4 but using the utility, typing wakeonlan b8:ac:6f:3d:6e:a4, turns on instantly
@Tom-Elliott All nodes at RC-11, It back to assigning recently used snapin associations from recent image deployments
Nothing has changed here. Just going about day-to-day operation. Tried with same host name, and never before used host name, same result.
