Not good news in our current situation, but at least in a future stable release, it has potential! We’ll hand touch all the student systems and manually inventory those so we can at the very least, do user login tracking. We’ll make it work one way or another.

I believe that once upon a time, back in the mid FOG .2x series, if you had the FOG client installed, it would auto register with the FOG server with MAC, current hostname.

I just had a production server tank on me as I was trying to prepare for repairs and upgrades. Now I’ve got an entire building with a fresh install of FOG 1.2 but no registered hosts.

It would be a blessing if there would be a way to have all the systems simply register themselves like they used to be able to. All our systems are set to boot to HD first, so I would have to physically touch every system to get them re-registered in FOG.

Hope I’m using the correct terminology. Thanks for any suggestions.

It became necessary for us to move off stable to SVN to address issues encountered after migrating from .32 to 1.x. I’m thankful for the response we have received in debug and development. We realize that downtime is to be expected when running in the dev channel. Our situation would not allow us to continue on our current server without rebuild. At least this way, we can still keep going forward on the same system, and hopefully the ability to see the errors encountered on our system will provide insight into future fixes. A big thanks to Tom for all the assistance thus far.

SVN 3142 installed.

[]After uploading an image to FOG, the image is no longer searchable. Image is still visible while viewing image list dropdown while editing a specific client.

At this point we’re dead in the water and unable to image. If you would find it useful, I can connect you to my server so you may see issues and look for issues. Let me know.

SVN 3134 installed. When doing a host search, it narrows it down to 76 hosts, rather than giving me the exact system I am searching for. I have 451 hosts on this FOG instance.

I did the manual wget again, as well as for good measure, updated to the newest SVN. Successful deployment. Yay!

Trying to wget those two items again. Will reboot and see what happens.

Looks to be the same problem. I may have had a firewall issue when downloading. Now moved the system to an unrestricted proxy.
This is what the system flashes for a mere second before it dumps.

Creating a unicast deployment. Just hooked up another system, created a deployment task and similar results.
Let me know if there is a place I can get you more info.

Running SVN 2922 and after creating a task to deploy and network booting, it dumps out of PXE, and does a local drive boot. Systems can network boot to the FOG menu. If you create a task to deploy via FOG menu, or web UI, the system will not image. Currently unable to deploy any systems. Uh oh…

This release broke other functions as well.

Trying to list all images, results in a blank page.
Trying to search an image results in this:

I can’t even do a dates query. I click on either link, and it blanks out. I don’t get to a page where it will even begin to allow me to specify a query.

I’d love to report positive results… But…

Both ‘Login History’ and ‘Hosts and Users’ result in a blank page after updating to SVN 2721. FOG_MEMORY_LIMIT is set to 1024.

Login records span from 2012 to now, and there are ~614,000 records just in the login history table.

Bummer… still a blank page after going to Login History.
Even tried changing the memory in the GUI to 1024, but still no dice.

I’ll give it a go. crosses fingers I’ll let you know.
