    • RE: Ubuntu 22.04 Fail to install. "php-gettext" issue.

      Hello @george1421!

      absolutely amazing. I just found a tutorial that shows you how to do that on the FOG website. It’s a shame that the google TOP site when you search the keywords “how to install fog server” doesn’t include this information. I’ve tried to install FOG on several other distros as well, all with the same sort of issues. I can be confident in assuming that switch to the dev-branch would rectify all issues with the distros i’ve tried before. Thank you so much for your assistance!

    • Ubuntu 22.04 Fail to install. "php-gettext" issue.

      Hello all,

      I’ve had this issue on several versions of Ubuntu, but it seemed to be pretty much fixed in Ubuntu 20.04. I built a brand new server running Jammy Jellyfish (Ubuntu 22.04) and low and behold, this damn error comes back again. Any idea on how to fix? I’ve searched the forums, but a lot of the stuff gets me rather confused, as it seems like it’s referring to issues that I don’t have. Thank you.

    • Issues with deployment to Dell Precision 3450

      Hello all,

      My production fog server doesn’t work, obviously. The issue that I’m getting is, when I try to do a host registration (quick or full), it always fails at the hard drive test. It says that the hard drive can’t be found. Obviously, I have a hard drive in the client computer. I run a compatibility test in the FOG pxe interface, and it passes the network test, but doesn’t pass the disk test. Furthermore, the interface states that this information may be useful:

      00:1f.6 Ethernet controller [0200]: intel corporation device [8086:15f9] (rev 11)

      Don’t know why, as this isn’t an NIC issue, but maybe it is, I can’t tell. I’ve been having this issue for a WHILE. I’ve already switch kernels countless times to custom kernels, and official releases. I’ve updated FOG itself, everything. I’d imagine that I would need to create a custom kernel with the drivers for this particular motherboard/hard drive, but I wouldn’t even know where to start, to be honest. ANY Input and guidance would be GREATLY appreciated, since I need for this fog server to be fully operational in a couple of weeks, and these Dells are a large majority of the environment this server is being built for. I’m willing to do any reading and learning, just send the links. Thank you.

    • RE: Issues with deployment to Dell Precision 3450

      @sebastian-roth Hello Sebastian,

      Unfortunately, I only go to this client 2 to 3 times a week (every other day), for only 2 hours everyday, so I’m not able to test as much as I like, whenever I get a suggestions, so I’ll try this possible solution tomorrow.

      This computer ships with ONLY UEFI (switching to BIOS is greyed out with this firmware), btw. I’m pretty sure that AHCI was disabled, with no option to enable, unfortunately. I will say that I’m tested FOG on several other Dell machines (out the box), and they worked fine, throughout the whole process. For some reason, this model is giving me major issues. Perhaps, I can build a custom Kernel, of some sort, and put in the drivers that are needed? I’ve seen some tutorials on how to do that, (with varying difficulty and prereqs), but I can’t seem to grasp what exactly is needed, and where to find them. Would you (or anybody else) but able to shed some light on this? Thank you.
