    • RE: FOG Boot via HTTP without DHCP

      @Greg-Plamondon
      Hi,

      we got a dhcp server. The computer got network, the path to the efi file is connected.
      I have no access to the dhcp settings that i could set the next-server or anything else.
      But i think the efi file maybe is corrupt? i have tried to edit the efi file, but then the boot stick does not work anymore.

    • FOG Boot via HTTP without DHCP

      Hello,

      i am using a Fog Server (1.5.10.1719, Ubuntu VM) since 2 years, everything works fine. I am admin of a small german university part.
      We are a part of a firm IT-Policy, in our debt we do not have any access to the dhcp server settings.
      Because of that, we use a boot via USB on every computer. It is just a ipxe boot were we have to give the IP Adress of the tftp server and then the FOG ist booting. (/EFI/BOOT/Bootx64.efi)

      Now we got new computer were we have the possibility to boot via HTTP. My thougt was, i can put the bootx64.efi file onto my fog server (/var/www/fog/bootx64.efi), set the URL in the BIOS and we can boot without the USB. But i does not work, i do not understand the failure because it is the same file.

      Maybe i got a understanding problem why does it not work. The best way would be if i could give the IP Adress also in die bootx64.efi that it would be booting without any typing.

      Maybe you have some ideas to help me with this.

      Thank you.

      Sven
