Hello.
We have a FOG server that works fine for deploying software, however we cannot capture a new image from multiple x86_64 (non-ARM) machines running Windows 10 on them.
Using FOG 1.5.10.1615 (Stable).
Current Kernel Versions:
bzImage Version: 6.6.49 (September 5, 2024)
bzImage32 Version: 6.6.49 (September 5, 2024)
arm_Image Version: 6.6.49 (September 5, 2024)
Also tested kernel versions: 6.6.44 (August 7, 2024)
Init versions tested so far with this failure:
- 2024.02.5 (September 5th, 2024)
- 2024.02.4 (August 7, 2024)
Both specified initrd and kernel versions result in the same error message (some details occluded in this image for privacy/security of the client):
Searching this says that it is suggested this would be an issue with the inits OR the kernels, but we also tested the kernel images that were specified, and it’s unlikely both would have a problem here.
I’m not entirely sure what else to look at that can be used to debug why an image capture task fails with this error, the last time it was seen was in the previous stable version 1.15.9 according to some complaints here on the forums, but I’m not sure if those still hold up.
Note that the FOG server is installed freshly on an Ubuntu 24.04.1 machine as of yesterday, with previous disk images that are able to be deployed without issue imported from a 1.15.9 install that took a dump yesterday due to DB issues. We did NOT restore from a DB backup.
