• RE: Chromium OS

Linux/Raw/Everything has finished uploading. Non-Raw images are less than 1GB. This puppy is 24.

I’m pushing it out now to two systems (Dell Latitude netbooks btw). PartClone claims it will take 45+ minutes. I could install from scratch in 1/4 that time. hmmm

Other/Raw/Everything is uploading now.

If you don’t hear from me again today, I will report my results on Monday.

Thanks for your help.

Like any other operating system I want to upload an image of a drive containing my custom Chromium OS installation for duplication with FOG.

So far, any image I’ve created then deployed does not boot. No errors, no text, nada.

I’m on my last two options for uploading Linux/Raw/Everything, and Other/Raw/Everything … which is going to take a long, long time before I can test the results.

• Gandalf's Win8.1u1 x86 PE

I can boot and run every .ISO I use under FOG 1.2.0 svn2250, except the x86 version of Gandalf’s PE. ( http://windowsmatters.com/tag/winpe/ ).

After caching the .iso, the PE throws up an error ( status: 0xc0000017 ). Strangely the x64 version which is 50% larger, works without issue.

It’s been a busy summer, but I’m fairly certain I successfully tested this version of the x86 .iso on Fog 0.32 … or I might just be loony.

My 1.2.0 FOG PXE Boot Menu Configuration / Advanced Configuration Options entry:

BTW, the .iso files are stored in /var/www/html/iso . I’ve reproduced this condition on multiple machines with up to 8GB memory.

Symptom:
Everything appears to be working hunky dory … but PartClone exhibits a strange behaviour when uploading.

It runs, then it runs again (Calculating Bitmap Process, then upload, then both again for each partition), doubling the upload time. The final uploaded image is fine.

The upload files are generated in /images/dev/<1234567890123456>
d1.mbr
d1.original.swapuuids
d1p1.img

When it’s complete, the partition file it just created is erased when it restarts the partition upload.

I have reproduced this on:

1. a physical machine with a Win7 image, no hidden system partition (a single 120 GiB partition on the HDD); uploaded as a Multiple Partition (not resizable).

2. a Hyper-V 2012 virtual Windows 8.1.1 image; with the normal hidden system partition and an OS boot partition.; uploaded as a Multiple Partition (not resizable).

In both cases, PartClone performed the entire process (Calculating Bitmap Process, then upload) for each partition, twice.

Deploying with PartClone is not an issue.

Grabbing a version number from https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk/ doesn’t help me in identifying a downloaded trunk file.

This afternoon I saw 2093 posted as https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk/ , so I immediately downloaded http://mastacontrola.com/fog_trunk.tar.bz2 .

When the download completed I revisited https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk/ and it had changed to 2094. Which version did I just download?

3.14.3 original for 1.0.1

I used 3.12.5 on 0.32 successfully.
