build 7705: Downloading inits, kernels, and the fog client ... stuckposted in FOG Problems
Just throwing this out there. Has anyone else tried a fresh or upgrade install of build 7705 today?
I’m sticking at Downloading inits, kernels, and the fog client . I have waited as much as 1 hour for results along with many, many restarts & retries.
We are having other network issues here today, but since checking out the build from SourceForge is working I’m wondering if it’s just us or if this is happening to others ?

RE: Making Fog Portableposted in Feature Request
Since I made that post I moved onto Debian, then CentOS7. My CentOS 7.1 recipe (for solely running a FOG Server) is still up. I will soon be posting expanded documentation to account for some changes I’ve made since 2015/10.
Meanwhile, others have expanded on what I’ve done in imaginative ways. Check out the Tutorial section of the Forums for Wiki links.

I’m hoping to acquire a ThinkPad OneLink+ to RJ45 Adapter ( pn: 4X90K06975 ) which should leverage the Yoga’s onboard ‘Intel
Ethernet Connection I219-V’ through the OneLink+ connector to see how that pans out. -

RE: Command Line Equivalentsposted in FOG Problems
Thank you Wayne, but I’m wasn’t looking for A solution, I was looking for THE solution to explicitly, and exactly mimic each of the three options that are available from the Web Interface, export Hosts, export Images and Configuration save, so that they can be imported via the web interface, or command line of a working system, without any massaging.
The reason I brought it up was because I had a brand new system experience a hardware failure in such a way that the system could still boot, but apache was fubared. Attempts to correct this ran into further hdd failures. It was new so I didn’t care about losing what little information was there, but I wondered aloud if this was at all possible.

Bummer. I was hoping there might be a `manual’ option, script or what have you in the case a server goes down in such a way that re/building or accessing the web interface was impossible, and continued to fail.

What are the command line equivalents to the web interface options to export hosts, export images and configuration save?

Not yet. I’m pulling an image from it right now.
But I did try snponly.efi and it was unhappy.

@Tom-Elliott unidonly.pxe can’t dhcp, ipxe.pxe hangs at iPXE initialising devices.
Okay, setting to UEFI boot and snp.efi . It works.
Re-instating bg.png. It still works.
Sigh… so UEFI it will be. Time to upgrade the DHCP server.
btw, iPXE is 2d42d

If I replace the version 4.3.2 bzImage and init.xz on the USB key with 4.5.1 variants, it still boots fine.

I have successfully booted from USB FOS FOG 64-bit Debug Kernel.
I have eth0 (1c394713aa5e) and eth1 (the USB Ethernet) (3c18a006dfa1)
eth1 has a valid ip address .

Okay, I’m back in the office, and quickly tried something else with undionly.kkpxe .
mv /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/bg.png /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/bg.png.oldI can get to the FOG menu!
Host is NOT registered!Menu Selection Results:
Boot from hard disk = Booting from SAN device 0x80 + hang run Memtest86+ = memdisk... 10% + hang Quick Registration and Inventory = bzimage... 0% + hang Quick Image = http://172.19.244.13/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php... 37% + hang Client System Information (Compatibility) = bzimage... 0% + hangI’m also entertaining the idea that this may be a bad USB Ethernet adapter; so I’m getting another to be sure.
