@Wayne-Workman Why would this only be affecting 780’s? Because I can register other computers.

Unable to Register Optiplex 780
When trying to register an Optiplex 780 we are getting the following error after pxe booting to the NIC:
“pxe-e51 no dhcp or proxydhcp offers received”
I’ve tried changing Kernals but this didn’t help. Also, the BIOS is up-to-date.
I’m able to register other machines with no issues.
Thank you in advance

RE: How do I move FOG server to different subnet?
It doesn’t seem like it. When I enter the mySQL command from the terminal it gives the following error:
Error 2002 (HY000): Can’t connect to local mySQL server through socket ’ /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock’ (2)
I cant get to the mysql command promt after it’s moved to the new subnet.

Is anybody able to help me with this? I apologize for the rush but it is very time sensitive. Thank you in advance.

RE: How do I move FOG server to different subnet?
My best answer would be to assign a dhcp reservation for the MAC you have with this system. This dhcp reservation would always give the same IP to the fog server, so from a “minimal effort” scenario, all you’d have to do (when you want to switch subnets) is assign the MAC an IP for the particular subnet in each of the scope’s it’s going to belong, set the Server to obtain IP from DHCP, and then all you’d have to do is move the network cable to the appropriate relating port.
Hi Tom,
Thank you for the information. We did what you suggested and now we’re trying to log into the web interface on the new subnet but we’re getting the Database Schema Installer / Updater page. What do we do from here? Thank you

How do I move FOG server to different subnet?
Currently we have a FOG server residing on 1 subnet but we would like to move the server to a different site’s subnet to image machines without going over a slow WAN. How can I change the IP, default gateway, and web interface to accomplish this with minimal effort?

RE: Can't update any Kernels
the default kernel for fog 1.2.0 works for Optiplex 3020’s

How do I apply the default kernel if I have already updated it with a different kernel?
Can't update any Kernels
This is the message I get when I try to update the Kernel with any Kernel listed on the “Puplished Kernels”.
However, I am able to update the kernel with any kernel from the “Unofficial Kernels” with no problems, but they do not work with my system. I am trying to register an Optiplex 3020.Thank you!

RE: Can't download any kernals... I get an error.
It’s always the same file size?
It was giving me different file sizes when I tried different Kernels. I was using .32 and just updated to 1.0.1. Now the Kernels are downloading but I can’t boot to the NIC. Did a setting get changed when I updated? Also, I noticed there is a new tftpboot folder and the old one was renamed to tftpboot.prev

Fog will not start after install.
I installed Ubuntu 10.4.4 and the latest Fog .32
Followed the setup directions word for word. I start a client and boot to NIC (PXE boot is enabled) it starts off with the client MAC address then shows Client IP, Mask, DHCP IP, Gateway IP and then
PXE-E11: ARP Timeout
PXE-MOF:Exiting Intel Boot AgentPlease Help I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I am able to access the fog site just can’t get to the host registration menu after everything is installed.

RE: Accidently Registered Twice
It might be easiest to delete both instances of the host. then reregister it. The only way you can register the same physical host twice is to use a different MAC address. If a host exists with the same MAC address, Fog will not let you register it again. At least not from the boot menu task. I don’t know about the WebUI.
That’s the point. I deleted the host and now when I try to re-register it, I get the mac address message and cannot register.

Accidently Registered Twice
I registered a computer twice on accident and then it said there was a naming confilict so I deleted the Host. Now when I try to do it again it says “Unable to locate host in database, please ensure that mac address is correct.”
Please let me know if any additional information is needed.
Thank you.
