    • RE: Several problems with Surface Pro 4

      From what I gather:

Not working: keyboard in FOS engine, NIC in debug mode?

      Working: iPXE menu, capture/deploy

Needed: has_usb_nic=1 kernel parameter. intel7156.efi or realtek7156.efi (or other 7156 ipxe bootfile depending on your USB NIC)

      Please add/modify as needed.

@boeleke All passwords in double quotes, everything else in single quote.

You probably did, but just to be sure, did you rerun the installer after the changes?

If yes, it might be worth deleting /var/www/html/fog and /var/www/fog and running the installer again.

    • RE: FOG FTP Permission Issue

@Joe-Gill I have a NAS4FREE server that I used as a node in the past. I just used the GUI to config it, but here’s the exports file for it anyway

      /mnt/INSTALLERS -alldirs -mapall=root -network 192.168.1.0 -mask 255.255.255.0

But more importantly, I notice your Storage Node page has browser autofill on it, so likely your password is being overwritten with the GUI login.

@boeleke How much RAM and free storage do you have?

    • RE: Making a new Snapin

      @boeleke Might be worth checking

      df -h

like Wayne suggested to see how full your root partition is now. 30GB should be plenty though if images are stored elsewhere, but doesn’t hurt to check.

Then check memory/CPU usage, preferably while having a bunch of clients trying to image using

      top

which updates constantly so you can keep a good eye on how much RAM and CPU are being used in total and by which processes.

    • RE: Failed to obtain lease on eth0 after ugrading to Fog 1.3.0

@asbenavides I can already tell that your storage node password is set to password

In other words, it’s almost certainly configured incorrectly.

Please set the password to the one found in /opt/fog/.fogsettings

    • RE: Failed to obtain lease on eth0 after ugrading to Fog 1.3.0

@asbenavides This still indicates a FTP password problem. There are likely other places you need to change the password to the one in /opt/fog/.fogsettings

Most likely FOG Configuration -> FOG Settings -> TFTP Server

    • RE: Failed to obtain lease on eth0 after ugrading to Fog 1.3.0

@asbenavides The password is the one in /opt/fog/.fogsettings

But you should not be using fog as a linux user to do things on since FOG relies on it quite a bit and you don’t want to get locked out.

I recommend making a new linux user and using that one.

    • RE: So this /IMAGES/DEV folder?

@EAHarvey You might want to check your /images folder contents, though.

The way image capture works is they get placed in /images/dev first and then at the end they get moved to /images and renamed to the proper destination name.

This moving process uses FTP, failure to move them indicates some sort of issue with that, most likely credentials, but if you’ve recently run the (trunk) FOG installer, this should already be corrected in the mean time.

@Matthieu-Jacquart Windows Key + P is the shortcut to switch display mode, works on login screen too.

Not sure about how to force it using snapins though.

Single Disk - Resizable is the best option if it works for your partition layout. Should work on all normal Windows installations since XP.

@george1421 ipxe.pxe does not allow UEFI booting, you’re thinking of ipxe.efi

In my experience ipxe.kpxe is more compatible than undionly.kpxe, I’ve been using it as the default for a while now to great success.

It’s not the same, but potentially related error.

Make sure the Hard Drive is actually in good working order though. Just because Windows is working properly, doesn’t mean the HDD is.
