RE: "Unable to get subsection" error with RC-4posted in FOG Problems
Could that host have .Net 1 installed on it. Just a shot in the dark

RE: Fog Client does not change hostname on Win10posted in Windows Problems
IT might, There is a thread around where someone made a new server and migrated the data over. I would go that route if you have the time. Let me see if I can find it.

RE: Fog Client does not change hostname on Win10posted in Windows Problems
I use the SVN upgrade procedure here: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Upgrade_to_trunk
I would make a backup (or snapshot if available) before upgrading though.

RE: Fog Client does not change hostname on Win10posted in Windows Problems
@Tim-Reynolds As far as a stable version if it is a RC it is pretty stable. I am running RC4 right now and everything seems fine. That being said @TOM ELLIOTT keeps things pretty tight and I think we are getting really close to the full release but I will let him make that call.

T3620
Sounds like on of the new PCs with the nvme drive in it, so I am thinking it will not see it on the 1.2.0 version? I could be wrong though.

RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
OK reinstalled the FOG sever again (over itself) and everything seems to have ironed itself out. I had to basically install it twice. But everything seems golden. Back to Windows 10 on a Surface image. Thank you guys.

RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
@Psycholiquid Had a blonde moment. needed to manually put the NIC from the dock in the host to get it to read correctly. Testing the deploy and DB update now

RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
Just ran the SVN up and it isn’t showing updating the version to 5941 either, I think my setup is trying to be hosed.

RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
Running the sql commands did not help, hosts are still showing not registered when they are in fact in FOG. I checked the mac address and it is correct. At a little bit of a loss here.

RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
@Tom-Elliott Finally got in, hadf to use my head for more than a hatrack this morning.:
mysql> use fog Reading table information for completion of table and column names You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A Database changed mysql> DELETE FROM hostMAC WHERE hmHostID NOT IN (SELECT hostID from hosts); Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> DELETE FROM hostMAC WHERE hmHostID=0; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> DELETE FROM hosts WHERE hostID=0; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> DELETE FROM hosts WHERE hostID NOT IN (SELECT hmHostID from hostMAC); Query OK, 1 row affected (0.01 sec) -
RE: Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
@Tom-Elliott Not sure, I never did manually. Not good at the mysql personally so it is a struggle for me

Hosts think they are not registeredposted in FOG Problems
Wed Jul 27, 2016 7:52 am
Running Version 1.3.0-RC-2
SVN Revision: 5937Tried the following wiki article suggestd by Wayne Workman but it doesnt do anything. Jsut acts like I am not logged in as root.
getting the following:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@‘localhost’ (using password: NO)
that is right after typing mysql
when deploying images I get failed to update DB and the task never drops out. When I register PCs they come back up as not registered but the information is in FOG just fine Inventory and all.
I did find this searching and made the change in teh taskqueues.class.php file didnt seem to help:
As always any help is appreciated.

RE: Surface Pro 4 Image Captureposted in Hardware Compatibility
The surface image is a bit different than the normal PC image with the pen and the recovery partition and such., If I just use the LTSB it will not have all the bells and whistles people want from owning a Surface.
-
RE: Surface Pro 4 Image Captureposted in Hardware Compatibility
Just an update, reinstalled fresh copy of Windows 10 for Surface and it uploads jsut fine it has something to do with the audit mode, as soon as I put it in audit mode it marks that partition as dirty. As to why I am not sure but that is what is happening.

RE: Surface Pro 4 Image Captureposted in Hardware Compatibility
@Wayne-Workman Yeah I always run CMD as elevated. It didnt help. It is the EFI boot partition that is giving the error. I am trying a clean install this morning without sysprep to see if it will upload. Then I will work up from there to see where the disconnect is happening. This is kinda weird on partclone’s part. I can see why they check but like George said in another post there should be a way to ignore it since windows 10 will have this alot.

RE: Surface Pro 4 Image Captureposted in Hardware Compatibility
@george1421 Yeah I would say it is technically working, the issue I am having with with the PC not the capture process.
