Do i have to RUN DP_Install_Tool before imaging, or RUN IT AFTER imaging on the destination/imaged PC/Host?

then I follow the instructions…
I now have Drivers folder on C:\
I put my DriverPacks

Step two is really only needed on older versions of FOG, from 0.29 I believe. FOGPrep is not really needed on any system anymore. That said, It’s already telling you that you would need to use it on Windows 7, so if you’re not using Windows 7, I think it kind of explains itself.
Im just confused here sir… sorry…
only needed on older versions of FOG > Im using FOG 1.2.0

yes I’ll check the SAD2 tools. Thanks
Thank you… I’ve done reading the 2nd link…
Ill try the first link…

“1) Install the FOG service, navigate to:
http://fogserver/fog/client/
And install the FOG client service. [BE SURE TO REPLACE YOUR “Hostnamechanger.dll” Where can I locate this hostnamechanger.dll? and what will I enter as replacement?
or your machine won’t rename and add to domain after imaging”. Replace this after FOG client is installed.
I already know how to sysprep my source image by reading some post and tutorials here…
but I cant find a good guide on how exactly Im supposed to prepare my SourceImage about the DRIVERS…how to properly install driverpacks on my sourcePC and my clonePCs will accept and happily use it.,so I dont have to install drivers manually on my clonedPCs
hi sir Thank you…
but no… I just dont want the UNATTENDED installation unattend.xml
but I want to sysprep generalize my sourceImage… sorry if I dont clear that on my first post…
I want to generalize/sysprep my SourceImage because Im deploying it to different machine hardwares
but I dont want to make it Unattended installation
Im using Fog 1.2.0
its ok for me to join my PCs in a domain manually, to configure computer name and users manually, so I dont use unattend.xml… but I dont want to install drivers on each different PCs manually
I want to make a source image WITHOUT unattend.xml and generalize/sysprep it…
How can I install DRIVERS for my destinations PCs… I already downloaded DRIVERPACKS…
Where should I put this driverpacks on my sourceImage? How and when? so when Im done cloning my PCs, I dont have to worry about the drivers…
Thank you

I install windows7x64 on virtual machine… no any applications installed, just the OS. sysprep, upload the image… deploy… then I got the error on the picture
Fog 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 12.04LTS desktop in VirtualBOX
server2008 as DNS and DHCP in VirtualBox
Windows7 in VirtualBox as sourceImage
deploying the win7imagesource on actual machine on the same network
what’s wrong with my set up? why I got this error? How to solve this?
I’m able to upload and download image/host with out a problem… but when I boot the clonedPC, I got the error shown in the picture
Thanks

On your build system open your web browser and navigate to the FOG interface
a. Download the FOG Client Service b. Extract the file and run Setup.exe c. On the Configuration page
i. Enter the host name of the FOG Server. (you can use IP, but depending on firewalls and routing non-domain computers may have issues communicating which will disable the auto-domain join feature)
ii. You can leave all other options selected as once the client service connects to the server it will copy the configured FOG options.

Hi Liam
Thanks again…
I read your guide and i have a followup question …
I have WS2008r2 for DNS, but pfsense for DHCP and IPs on my main network PCs are static…
What will be the easy but effective solution ?
