Yes I am running as root. After the installation a user FOG is created but I think nothing is installed : I don’t have my fog directory in /var/www/html/, my database fog is not created…

Well I am trying to reinstall FOG following these instructions : https://wiki.fogproject.org//wiki/index.php?title=Uninstall_FOG

I uninstalled FOG but I can’t reinstall it.
I launched /bin/installfog.sh, everything is ok but FOG didn’t create any directory in /var/www/html/ and my database has not been created.

• RE: Authentification mount request from ... for /data/images (/data/images)

I verified that the nfs service is running and it is.

What is weird is that I can see on my server my image :
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 512 15 mai 14:22 d1.mbr
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8428187 15 mai 14:23 d1p1.img
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7498607767 15 mai 14:58 d1p2.img

On my FOG web management I see my image but it is written that the size is 0,0 iB.

Thank you for your response.
Here a video of my problem :

During my PXE boot, I read this error : tsc : Fast TSC calibration failed. I don’t know what’s going on.

I am using the last version of FOG (1.2.0) on Red Hat 7.
After checking out all my logs, I don’t find any error.

EDIT : Well I can upload a image on my server but the deployment still doesn’t work.

• Authentification mount request from ... for /data/images (/data/images)

Hi,

I need your help 🙂
I installed my FOG Server 2 months ago, everything worked fine until yesterday.

Today it’s impossible for us to download or upload. We create a task, we can see the task in Task management, then we launch the PXE Boot on the computer and the task disappears automatically.

When I check out my logs on the server, I read : May 15 11:57:51 fog01 rpc.mountd[20445]: authenticated mount request from 192.12.59.33:840 for /data/images/dev (/data/images)

Does anyone have an idea ?

Well everything worked for a while (upload and deployment) but now I’m unable to upload and deploy.

I register the client (quick registration).
Create an image
Associate a client to an image
Create the task and reboot

And the upload does not start (attached a screenshot of what I see).

Thank you Uncle Frank 🙂

I killed vsftpd and now I only have one instance.

Very weird for the spaces after “mypassword”. Effectively I did a tcpdump and I saw that there are 2 spaces after the password. FOG adds spaces, why ? I’m sure that there are no spaces in the Web GUI. I changed the fog user password (adding spaces) on the server and it worked!

• RE: Fogftp login failed

The folder permissions are correct (chmod -R 777 already done).

When I run :systemctl status vsftpd.service -l

I have :

vsftpd.service - Vsftpd ftp daemon

• RE: Fogftp login failed

Yes it is showing the password “mypassword”.
I can create download tasks (you can see on the screenshot that the upload is stuck at 99%).
Attached 2 screenshots 🙂

I’m using fog 1.2.0.

• RE: Fogftp login failed

I’m sure that this password is set properly. Attached a screenshot of the Web GUI.
so “mypassword” is my storage management password and my fog user password.

• RE: Fogftp login failed

Sorry for this confusion, I meant that I could access to my ftp server.
On my FOG server I do : ftp localhost
I have a login successful :
ftp localhost
Connected to localhost (127.0.0.1).
220 (vsFTPd 3.0.2)
Name (localhost:root): fog
331 Please specify the password.
Password:
230 Login successful.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.

I’m sure that the storage management password is set properly. This password is the same as the fog user password on my server.
Is there a file in /var/www/html/fog/ in which I can write the password directly ?

Here the content of my /etc/exports file :

/data/images/ *(ro,sync,no_wdelay,insecure_locks,no_root_squash,insecure,fsid=1,)
/data/images/dev *(rw,sync,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure,fsid=2)
/data/ 192.12.59.0/24(rw)

In the WEB GUI, my default storage is /data/images, did I make a mistake ?

Hi Uncle Frank, thank you for your patience.

I can access to my tftp server from another computer. I have a login successful.

The problem is that when I upload my image to my FOG server, everything is ok but this upload is stuck at 99% everytime. Attached a screenshot.

Yes, when I try to connect from another computer using ftp, it works, I have a login successful.

And in the log I can see : [fog] OK LOGIN: Client “192.12.59.19”

• RE: Fogftp login failed

The password in the Web GUI for my relative node is the same as the password in lib/fog/Config.class.php. In this file, I defined my password : define(‘STORAGE_FTP_PASSWORD’, “MY_PASSWORD”);

I found this post but it does not help me : http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fogftp-ftp_login-failed-at-the-end-of-imaging.10437/

• Fogftp login failed

Hi guys,

I’m creating a new thread because I can’t upload an image to my FOG Server. This time I have this error :
Error: ftp_login failed. Error ftp_login(): Please specify the password. FOGFTP: Login Failed.

Is there a file in which I have to put the ftp password for FOG ?

Thank you!

• RE: Unable to upload an image : Failed to mount NFS volume

My image is sitting in /images/dev, even if the storage default in the web GUI is /data/images 😕
Tftp service is running.
The password of the Linux FOG account is the same as the web GUI password and TFTP password in the Web GUI.
