    • Snapin not working properly

      Tom,
I have upgraded my fog to latest 1.3.0 RC37. I installed FOG client on Dell790 pc. I Created snapin. It is just batch file and should copy 2 files from network drive and copy in to c:\temp dir. I manually tested the batch script and it is working fine. Active task showed Startin to Queuedin. Sometime FOG_SNAPIN_PATH will list the file, other time I do not see it. I get message on task bar “Please do not shutdown computer…” I have attached snapin screenshot. Fog Client is 11.7 0_1482180881452_Capture screenshot.png .

      What Am i doing wrong?

      Thanks,

      Tom,Wayne&THEMCV,

All of you, Thank you for quick reply. I resubmitted snap in to host. Snapin showed hash file at bottom. Advanced Task showed snap queued in and Checked in but file does not displayed in [FOG_SNAPIN_PATH]. I will try to upgrade and let you know.

      Thanks,

    • Snap in issue

      Hello Tom,

I have fog 1.3.0 (R26) running on Ubuntu 14.04. Everything works fine and I am trying to do snap. I created a batch file, this batch will copy 2 files from network drive and place them in windows/temp folder. Batch script work running manually.
I created a snap in (Normal),Select Snap in Template = ’ batch script," Snap in runwth(defaulted to “cmd.exe”), uploaded the batch script, snapin Argument is blank(Like to see for the testing purpose).

I attached to Host and from Basic Task–>Advance Task–>Single Snapin.

It take logn to load but I get an error message ‘Hash not found’. I like through forum and followed it but no luck. I am not sure why it would not work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Thank you,

      Olduser

    • RE: Windows 7 64 bits image

      Tom & Wayne,

I am pleased to say that my FOG 1.3.0 is working extremely well. Image took only 6 minutes. I can register the host without any error. I created one machine with all my programs, uploaded image and deployed it on another subnet. Everything is working fine. You guys great. I was scared to upgrade from 32 to 1.3.0 since everything was working but now I realized how fast 1.3.0 is . Great work.

I like to test on 64 bits windows 7 machine. I was able to register the 64 bits machine but did not yet uploaded it. I will try tomorrow. I will post my progress.

Again I like to thank all of you for doing wonderful work.

    • RE: Upload Image slow

      Tom,

Thank you for the quick reply. I found it was network issue. Now it is running little faster. But When the image was finished it displayed “Updating Database Failed” error. Also the machine was keep rebooting several times. I went to host management and uncheck the rebooting option. After that I was able to log in PC.
How Can I resolve “Updating Database Failed” error? I checked the Password and other setting but can’t figure it out.

      Thanks,

I installed fog client services on Dell 790 (32) bits machine which went without any error. My problem is when Upload the Dell 790(32 bits) image, it is very slow. How can I make it to upload faster?

      Thanks,

      Tom & Themcv,

Thank you very much for your quick reply. If I upgrade to 1.3.0 from .32, will I be able just keep one Kernel for 32 bits and 64 bits? What I mean is, I do not want create 2 separate kernel for the window 7(32 bits & 64 bits) pc. Is it possible for you to paste link on how to upgrade from .32 to 1.3.0?

      Thanks,

    • Windows 7 64 bits image

We have Fog cloning setup with .32 version. We currently use windows 7 32 bits Dell Optiplex 790 PC and Fog .32 is working properly. Recently Our agency bought Dell Optiplex 9020 64 bits windows 7 PC. How can I configure fog so that I can upload 64 bits machine ? Whenever I go to register the 64 bits PC, it will not register it. Fog message says “unable to register the host”.

I looked up the forum answer. I know I have to update the Kernel for 64 bits but I do not want loose 32 bits Image. How can I keep both 32 bits which is working fine and add image for 64 bits.

      Thanks,

      Olduser.
