I have gone ahead and enabled portfast on all involved ports. No luck yet, I may just move the Fog server physically to my tech workshop at this point which has a private network with Cisco equipment. It would be beneficial to image across our network as we are a 14 building campus and my level 1 tech has to carry around a collection of thumb drives with all the different images we have. However I don’t think I will give up yet, does anyone have a good step by step guide for start to finish install of Linux and fog, the one I was using seams to be out of date and a lot of steps where missing.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
If I am not mistaken in Netgear land that’s what they call Fast Link I think, which is disabled on all ports on all switches.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
My vendor just suggested that if I turned off our STP (RSTP) my network would almost immediately fall apart, we have a large mess of a network. Are their other options?

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Honestly that is a really good question, I will need to think about that one.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Would not supprise me, they cause me all kinds of other issues over the past 4 years, I said Cisco but my Budget said Netgear.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
My core switch (Layer 3) is a Netgear GSM7328FS and my building (layer 2) switches are netgear GS748TP. The Two computers I am trying are Dell OptiPlex 520, 745. I have 755, 750, 960, and 990 as well but have not tested it on the new stuff yet as they are the smaller groups. Yes we do have STP enabled on the switches.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Now that I have access again I have tr8ied every file in the tftpboot folder. Some give me “option not supported”, some just start a reboot, and default.ipxe makes it just freeze. Not sure at this point if there is any more to try or start from scratch.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Thannk you that restored my access to the tftpboot folder.

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Did these commands, now I have no access to the tftpboot folder. returns error permission denied in WinSCP when I try and look at the content. "Server returned empty listing for directory ‘/tftpboot’
Knew I should have stayed in bed but no I had to wake up and say, “Lets play with Linux this week”

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Here is the default.ipxe now as for the other question, sorry I don’t know what that is or how to check it, sorry I am an old MCSA and just returning to the linux world.
#!ipxe
cpuid --ext 29 && set arch x86_64 || set arch i386
params
param mac0 ${net0/mac}
param arch ${arch}
isset ${net1/mac} && param mac1 ${net1/mac} || goto bootme
isset ${net2/mac} && param mac2 ${net2/mac} || goto bootme
:bootme

RE: TFTP Issues "File not Found"
Not sure if this is progress, I updated my option 67 on my DHCP server to “ipxe.kpxe” and now instead of the “option not supported” the PC reboots automatically.

RE: Database Schema Installer / Updater 1.1.1 never finish
Oh please don’t here my post as a complaint, heck the level of support is amazing. Especially for a product that only cost me in time not money. So far I am amazed with it and the possibilities and a 2 hour or less response time is flat out amazing, heck I don’t get that fast of a response from people I pay. I will pull those logs together just will take me a bit of time as I say I have been away from linux for a long long time and other than the commands I use for my VoIP system I have forgotten much.

RE: Database Schema Installer / Updater 1.1.1 never finish
Ok no responses and I don’t see a clear solution so I am trying a re install of FOG. That has gotten me back to my problem of the PXE not booting to the menu that I was fighting with back on Umbutu 12.
